Randolph Posts Record Number on ODAC All-Academic
FOREST, VA – On Thursday, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its annual ODAC All-Academic Team. For the fourth-straight year, over 60 student-athletes from Randolph College were honored for their achievements.
In order to qualify for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better for the full academic year. This past year, 2016-2017, saw 64 WildCats accomplish that feat. Not only was this the largest amount of 'Cats that have been honored, but every team saw at least one representative on the list.
"We are proud of the accomplishments our students achieve in the classroom and are thrilled to celebrate their achievements with this special recognition from the ODAC" said Director of Athletics Tina Hill. "It takes tremendous effort to balance the rigors of their coursework along with their participation in their sport and these students demonstrate the best in Division III and the ODAC."
The women's soccer team led the way with nine representatives, while men's lacrosse and riding had eight apiece. Both basketball teams each had six student-athletes, while softball had seven.
