ODAC Releases 2018-19 Men’s Basketball Poll

SALEM, Va.- In conjunction with its annual men's basketball Media Day held at the Salem Civic Center, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its preseason poll on Thursday morning. Randolph was picked 10th.

The WildCats received a total of 35 points to finish ahead of Eastern Mennonite (31), Shenandoah (31), and newcomer Ferrum (25). Roanoke was selected first with seven first place votes and 137 points. Randolph-Macon is second with 127 points and three first place votes while Guilford comes in third with 121 points and three first place votes. The full poll can be viewed below.

Head coach Pete Hamilton enters his third season at the helm of the program. The WildCats return 11 players from last year's team including second and third leading scorers Sammy Hooper and Brian Smith. Top rebounder and shot blocker Elijah Ford, who started 25 of 27 games as a first-year player, also returns.

Randolph begins its season at home on November 10 against St. Mary's (Md.) The first ODAC contest will be November 17 at Lynchburg.
