Men's basketball student-athletes Justin Dula and Brian Smith recently returned from a 10-day trip through Ireland as members of a select USA team through USA Athletes International that played contests throughout the country. The Irish Roots Basketball Tour included stops in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, and Belfast. The team went 5-0.
"My experience playing in Ireland was incredible!" said Dula. "Being able to visit another country had always been on my bucket list and this summer I was fortunate enough to do that while playing basketball. As a player, I believe that this experience helped me become more assertive on the court. Playing with and against elite players really brought the best out of my game. I am looking forward to getting back on campus this fall for my junior year!"
"We played a physical team in each city as well as visiting popular tourist destinations such as the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, and the Jamerson Distillery," noted Smith. "It was a great experience and I made some new lifelong friends and memories!"
