Q&A with WildCat of the Week Troy Jurney

The Randolph College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our WildCat of the Week. The 1st student-athlete selected this year is men's soccer junior Troy Jurney.

Jurney scored two goals and added two assists for the WildCats in the win over Southern Virgnia University on Saturday night.  The WildCats also beat Averett University on the way to winning Tiger/WildCat Classic Championship.  Jurney was named MVP.

You were named MVP of the Tiger/WildCat Classic, notching six points, how does that work as a springboard for the rest of the season?

I hope I can take this momentum from the tournament and keep it going so I can have my best season yet and help the team finish on top.

What is your favorite thing about Randolph College?

My favorite thing about Randolph is how close everyone on campus is. It really is my "home away from home."

How has being a student-athlete affected you?

Being a student athlete, I always have to manage my time appropriately.  I have to balance soccer and studying and plan accordingly so I can get everything finished on time.

What is your favorite thing about Randolph College men's soccer?

This team is a family. We always have each other's back no matter what. I will do anything for these guys and my coaching staff. That is definitely my favorite thing about this team.
