GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph men's swimming team continued competition on the second day of the ODAC Championships. Going into Saturday's events in sixth place, the WildCats moved their way up to fifth overall.
Several records were set during the finals portion. Oscar Onoszko (Clover, S.C.) was ninth overall in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.80 that set a new school record. Jeffrey Oliveri (Ellicott City, Md.) also had a new Randolph record in the 100 back with a finish of 57.17 to come in ninth.
The 200 medley relay team of of Oliveri, Onoszko, Andrew Scales (Tega Cay, S.C./Fort Mill) and Adriano De Anglelis (Miami, Fla./Hargrave Military Academy) posted a time of 1:41.03 to establish a new record. The squad placed fifth in that event. The same group was fourth in the 800 relay with a time of 7:35.38
While not a record, Scales had a personal best time in the 100 fly. His touched the wall in 58.54 to come in 14th. Kieran Saienni put up a personal best 1:01.04 in the 100 back.
The WildCats wrap up the three-day event tomorrow. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. with finals starting at 5:00 p.m.
