Men’s Swimming Wins at Tri-Meet

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Randolph men's swimming team competed against a pair of Old Dominion Conference teams on Saturday in Greensboro and Ferrum. The WildCats won over both teams with scores of 112-30 and 119-53.

First year swimmer Chris Veratstek (Menchville, Va./Newport News) picked up a pair of first place finishes for the WildCats on the day. He was first in the 200 breast in a time of 2:19.70 and in the 100 breast in 1:02.16. Andrew Scales (Tega Cay, S.C./Ford Mill) also had two first place wins as he touched the wall first in the 200 fly in 2:35.08 and in the 200 fly in 1:02.64.

Josh Bulavko (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) was the only competitor in the 1000 free as he completed the event in 11:55.94.  Adriano DeAngelis (Miami, Fla. Lynchburg, Va./Anglo American School of Sofia)

Other winners on the afternoon included Daniel Bennett Blake (College Park, Ga.) in the 50 free (22.77), Jeffrey Oliveri (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) in the 100 free (53.02) .

The 400 medley relay team of Oliveri, Verastek, Scales, and Bennett-Blake finished in 3:56.83. The 400 relay team of Oscar Onoszko (Clover, S.C./Clover HS), Scales, Bennett-Blake, and Verastek finished in 3:29.36.

Randolph competes at the Greensboro Invitational on November 17.
