Men’s Tennis Falls to Centre, 5-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to Centre College on Tuesday afternoon.

Originally scheduled for 3 p.m. on the Randolph Tennis Courts, the match was moved inside to the Crosswhite Fitness Center Club in Lynchburg. 

The Colonels swept all three doubles flights before taking flights one and two in singles play to take home the win.

Daniel Crutcher (Newton, N.C./Maiden) and Edgar Ellis (Hickory, N.C./Hickory) fell in first flight doubles, 6-3, while Joe Kaneda (Media, Pa./Penn Crest) and John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) dropped a 6-1 decision in flight two. The tandem of Ben Roberts (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day) and Minh Hoang (Lynchburg, Va./Niagra Catholic) fell to their opponent 6-0 in flight three.

Crutcher played in the flight one singles spot, falling to Centre's Max Middleton, 6-1, 6-0 before Ellis dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Adam Slone in flight two.

The WildCats drop to 1-4 on the season and will move on to host Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Emory & Henry College on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.
