2016-2017: (Indoor) – Competed mainly in the jumps during the indoor season…also took part in the 400-meter race and a 4x200-meter relay race…posted the best high jump of his career at the ODAC Championships…cleared 6’3.25” which was good for a tie for third-place…lost the bronze after going to the tiebreak…also earned a point in the long jump, reaching 20’3.5”…season best came at Vince Brown Invitational with a mark of 20’7.25”. (Outdoor) – Once again competed primarily in the jumps, but was part of relay teams and ran in the 100-meter dash at the first two meets…posted his best in the long jump at the Liberty Collegiate Invite of 21’0.5”…cleared 20’9.75” at the ODAC Championships for eighth-place and a point…also earned points in the 4x100-meter relay (sixth in time of 44.52) and 4x400-meter relay (sixth in time of 3:35.55)…finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 5’11.5” to earn even more points…had a season-best of 6’2.25” at the W&L Carnival, where he finished second…won high jump at Doc Jopson and finished second in long jump at same meet…was top-nine in every meet/event he registered a mark in.

2016: (Indoor) – Competed in every meet for the WildCats…worked in some sprints and jumps as well…had his best indoor 200 time of 24.87 at the SU Open…earned points at the ODAC Championships in the High Jump with a clearance of 6’5”, his best of the year…had a best long jump of 19’5.25” at the Vince Brown Invite. (Outdoor) – Continued to run the 200 and participate in the long and high jumps…won both jumps at the WildCat Invitational…also took home the HJ title at the Roanoke Invitational…had a career-best in the 200 at the Roanoke Invite in a time of 24.25…earned points for the WildCats at the ODAC Championships, clearing the high jump bar of 5’11.25” …will look to add more as a sophomore.

Previous: Ran the 200 meter dash in high school...helped Mfanisipim win the regional championships four straight years.

Personal: Son of Yaw and Anna Afrifa-Mensah...has four siblins, three of which are older...was a Public Relations Officer, American Field Office in SYTO...competed in rugby, handball, and soccer in high school...is minoring in International Economics.
