Petty Earns USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the second consecutive year, senior DJ Petty (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) has garnered All-Region honors for the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field season, as announced Sunday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Petty was selected for the South/Southeast region in the 110-meter hurdles. This marks Petty's second year as an all-region honoree. The senior earned All-South/Southeast region accolades last year in the 110 hurdles, becoming the second Randolph track and field athlete to do so.

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team. Petty recently ran a time of 14.60 seconds in the 110 hurdles at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying meet, which currently stands first in the south/southeast region and 17th in Division III.

Petty will compete this week at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
