The Randolph College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our WildCat of the Week. The 3rd student-athlete selected this year is men's cross country sophomore Matthieu Meyer.
Meyer was the top Division III runner at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, NC last Friday. He finished in a time of 17:19.8, which was a personal best.
You set a career-best in the 5K Adidas XC Challenge, which also happened to be the second-best time in program history. How will this race propel you through the rest of the season?
I was really happy with my time and how I ran last Friday, and it made made me more confident in what I was able to do. Running with D1 runners really motivated me, and I can't wait for the rest of the season.

How has being a student-athlete affected you?
It really taught me how to manage my time between academics and athletics, but also pushed me to adopt the healthiest lifestyle to try and get better.
