CARY, N.C. – The Randolph College men's and women's cross country teams traveled south to North Carolina to compete in the Adidas XC Challenge on Friday evening. The men's team finished seventh out of 10 teams while the women's team did not post a team score.
Alex Clem (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) earned the top finish for Randolph, covering the five-kilometer course in a time of 17:39.8 to place 31st out of 104 runners. Jermayne Waller was the second WildCat to cross the finish line, clocking in at 18:40.2 with Caleb Schmitzer following behind in a time of 19:08.2.
On the women's side, Sophia Dill (Glencoe, N.C./Western Alamance) was the lone WildCat to compete, covering the 5k course in a time of 25:13.2, which was good enough for 54th overall.
The WildCats return to action next weekend when they host their only home meet, the Virginia 4-Miler, on Saturday, Sept. 23. Start time is set for 8 a.m.
