BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph Equestrian team competed at the Bridgewater IHSA on Saturday morning. The WildCats were second with a total of 34 points. The University of Virginia won with 37 points.
Carly Stirewalt had two first-place results for Randolph. She was the winner of the Intermediate Flat and Intermediate Fences. She was the overall high point rider on the day.
Madeline Davis (Troy, Ohio/Miami East) was first in Intermediate Fences and second in the Open Flat. She was the overall reserve high point rider.
Kirby Tidmore (Prosper, Texas) had the other blue ribbon result for the 'Cats. She was first in the Novice Flat.
There were several second place rides for Randolph. Raynah Roberts (Bristol, VA./Homeschool) and Leia Stuart were both runners-up in Novice Flat. Madison Hockersmith (Vernon, NY/VVS) and Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern) both placed second in Novice Fences.
Kate Pizzini (Montgomery Village, Md./Long Beach) was third in the Beginner Walk-Trot Canter. Other results included Rebecca Jones (Joshua, Texas/Joshua) in the Beginner Walk Trot Canter (5th), Deborah Muskatel (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) in the Advanced Walk Trot Canter (5th). Tidmore also had a sixth-place finish in the Open Fences.
Randolph competes at the SWVHJA Annual Festival next weekend in Lexington. The three-day event begins at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
