Equestrian Places Third at ODAC Championship; Tidmore Named Scholar-Athlete

BRIDGEWATER, Va.- Four Members of the Randolph equestrian team competed at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship held at Bridgewater College on Saturday in the hopes that the WildCats could defend their 2018 title. Randolph came up just short on the day as it finished in third place with 14 points. Sweet Briar was the champion with 17 points followed by Hollins with 16.

Randolph was represented by Michelle Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend), Taylor Price, Kirby Tidmore (Nashville, Tenn.), and Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern). Tidmore and McLaughlin were both named to the All-ODAC Team. Tidmore was also selected as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is the third Randolph rider in program history to earn that distinction.

Tidmore and McLaughlin now prepare for IHSA Nationals in three weeks. Competition begins on May 1 in Syracuse, N.Y.
