Softball with Second-Straight Busy Week

LYNCHBURG, VA – For the second-straight week, the Randolph College softball team will have a busy schedule.  The team will play three doubleheaders, with all of them coming against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) competition.

The WildCats (15-9 overall, 2-4 ODAC) had not played a conference game all season until last Wednesday.  Now, after playing three last week, including going against two top-15 teams in the country, and three this week, the 'Cats will be over halfway through the ODAC slate.  Action begins against Emory & Henry College (15-5, 1-1) at Randolph on Wednesday.  Last week, the 'Cats batted against the top-six pitchers in the conference in terms of ERA.  On Wednesday, they will go against the number-nine pitcher, Emily Kendrick.  However, Lindsey Chaney sits above her in eighth at 1.70.  First pitch is at 3 p.m.

On Saturday, the WildCats will travel to Eastern Mennonite University (13-5, 1-5) for the twin bill.  It will be the first match-up between the two teams since the first round of last year's ODAC tournament.  The Royals won a close one, despite two RBI from Dianne Davis.  This year, the two teams have only one common opponent.  EMU lost both to #13 Randolph-Macon, while the 'Cats handed the Yellow Jackets their second loss of the year on Sunday.  Game one in the big DH begins at 1 p.m.

Randolph wraps up its week on Sunday, hosting Bridgewater College (7-13, 2-2) at 1 p.m.  This twin bill should be big in determining seeding for the ODAC tournament.  While the tournament does not come into play until the end of April, all games are important in terms of seeding.  Additionally, Randolph will only have eight (of 20) ODAC games remaining.
