LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team hosted #10 Washington and Lee on Friday afternoon at WildCat Stadium. The Generals shutout the WildCats for the first time this season by the score of 25-0.
The WildCats showed some resistance early in the first half. Sarah Perry (Rocky Mount, Va./Franklin County) caused a General turnover and was able to get Randolph into its offensive zone. The 'Cats in turn gave the ball back. W&L cleared and looked to score but Maddy Graves' shot attempt hit the goal post. After Randolph turned the ball over again, Washington and Lee was able to put one through at 26:21 to go up 1-0.
The Generals would go on to lead 14-0 at the break. Nine different players would get into the scoring column led by Carson Pinney with five goals.
Randolph registered just two shots on the day. Rachel Buxton (Sterling, Va.) had the only shot on goal.
Perry picked up two groundballs and won four draw controls.
Randolph will host Randolph-Macon on Wednesday in its final home game of the season. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
