The Randolph College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our WildCat of the Week. The 7th student-athlete selected this year is women's soccer player Delaney Doyle.
Doyle scored the game-winning goal against Guilford College, helping the WildCats move into good positioning for the ODAC tournament.
You scored the only goal of the game in the win over Guilford, how does that set you and your teammates up for the final two weeks of the regular season?
I think that winning the game over Guilford will give us more motivation to win these next few games for progression into ODAC play.
What is your favorite thing about Randolph College?
When people say "It's my home away from home", I have never been able to say that until I came to Randolph and found my second home and in the process found the best of friends.
How has being a student-athlete affected you?
It is definitely difficult at times to be a student-athlete and keep up grades. Whether it is finishing homework on bus rides home at 1 a.m., or feeling exhausted after a game and knowing you cant sleep because of school work (which is the worst), but altogether I like having the busy schedule, you really learn to cherish days off.
What is your favorite thing about Randolph College women's soccer?
My favorite thing, hm there are so many. I love being a part of the team because we are more like a family and I know we will always support each other in soccer through the wins and losses. Out of soccer when someone just needs to talk, I know they will always be there.
