LYNCHBURG, Va.- With a win on Saturday over Hollins and with the help of tiebreakers, the Randolph women's soccer team secured the ninth seed in the ODAC Tournament. After missing out last season, the WildCats return to the playoffs for first time in two years.
The WildCats will face eighth seed Ferrum Monday night at Berkley Field. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
How they Got Here: Randolph are winners of four of their last five games. The Panthers have dropped four of their last five contests with a scoreless tie against Roanoke the only non-loss
Last Meeting: The two schools last got together on October 10th at W.B. Adams Stadium where the game was moved to because of weather conditions. Randolph took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute on a Sam Hablas to Sara Bane goal. The lead held until the 65th minute when Ferrum's MJ Germeroth scored to tie the contest and then the Panthers netted the gamewinner at 85:02 on an Alexis McCargo goal
The WIldCats: Bane leads the WildCats in goals scored with 12 and in assists with six. She is fourth in the OCAC in goals scored and fourth in points with 30. Hablas has six goals with Alainia Gembach adding five. Goalkeeper Zoe Waring has started 12 games in net. She has 99 saves and a .805 save percentage. She is fourth in saves and six in save percentage in the ODAC.
The Panthers: McCargo is the team's leading scorer with seven goals. Brianna House has six. Casey Raggett has dished out six assists. Taylor Dodson has started 15 games in goal and tallied 70 saves with a GAA of 1.61.
ODAC Tournament History: Ferrum is in its first year in the ODAC. Randolph is making its 19th appearance. The WildCats are looking for their fourth win in the tournament. The team won their third ever game and first since 1985 two years ago at Eastern Mennonite 1-0.
