Parker and Parra Enjoy More Success on Day Two of ITA Regionals

FREDRICKSBURG, Va. -- Junior Sarah Parker and sophomore Heather Parra reached the final of today's ITA Regionals in women's tennis action.

The duo squared off with a Grove City College pairing this morning, with the WildCats taking an 8-3 decision over Leah Thomsen and Maddie Williams to reach the final.

In that championship match, another pair of Wolverines stood in their way, however.

GCC got its revenge, as Julie Becker and Janine Jones got the best of an 8-3 verdict, taking the flight.

In singles play, Parra returned to solid form after being relegated to the consolation bracket by sweeping her two matches.

In early action, she dispatched of Salilsbury's Sam Babo, 8-1 in the morning session.

Later, Parra dominated over Elizabethtown's Taylor Helsel, taking an 8-2 win.

Parker lost her consolation match this morning, 8-1 to finish her day.

Randolph's men's team takes part in the event next weekend, with both teams having their final fall action of the year at Southern Virginia on Oct. 3.
