Randolph Women’s Tennis Tabbed Sixth in ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. – The Randolph College women's tennis team picked up 97 points to stand sixth out of 13 teams in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Preseason Poll released by the conference office on Thursday morning.

Randolph sits just four points from fourth-ranked Virginia Wesleyan University, three points from fifth-ranked Roanoke College and earned two points over Bridgewater College, which stands in the seventh spot. 

The WildCats finished the 2017-18 season with an 11-6 overall record and a 7-4 ODAC record, which included a trip the the ODAC Semifinal round that saw Randolph fall to eventual conference champion Washington and Lee University. 

Randolph returns most of its roster from last year, including ODAC All-Conference players Keyu Jin (Kunming, China/No. 8 Middle School) and Ashley Schmitz (Keswick, Va./Homeschool)

The Generals were tabbed first in the poll with 12 first-place votes and 144 points while Randolph-Macon College earned the last first-place vote and 132 points for the runner-up spot. The University of Lynchburg rounds out the top three with 107 points.

The WildCats open their spring campaign on against Washington and Lee on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. on their home courts.
