Women's Track and Field Gets Three Point-Earning Marks at ODAC Outdoor Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Two first-years posted a combined three point-earning marks in Saturday's half of the ODAC Outdoor Championships.

First-year Diana Young placed in both events today after qualifying Friday for the 100m and 200m.

In the 100m, she finished sixth with a time of 12.73s in a very close battle. Not only did the top seven finishers all come in within 0.32 seconds, but Young finished just one one-hundredth of a second ahead of No. 7 and one one-hundredth of a second behind No. 5.

Another close race followed in the 200m, with Young finishing fifth in 26.24s just 0.02s behind third place, as a photo finish was required just two hundredths of a second ahead of her.

In the 100m hurdles, first-years Marisa Quarti and Jessy Spencer each qualified for the final, with Quarti earning two points with a fifth place finish at 16.45s.

Spencer was one spot out of point-earning position with a seventh place run of 17.06s.

In the discus, first-year Alexis Calloway was also narowly out of the points, throwing 30.21m for seventh.

Sophomore Janéa Jackson was 10th in that event.

Calloway, Jackson and junior Andrea Mewhinney each took part in the javelin, as well.

First-year Sophia Dill finished in 2:44.85 in the 800m.

Sophomore Dani Hill competed in the 1500m, finishing in 5:38.78 ahead of junior Amanda Sims.

Randolph's sixth points was good for eighth place in the event.
