Track and Field Opens Up Indoor Season at Roanoke
LYNCHBURG, VA – For some time, the first weekend of December has signified the beginning of the collegiate indoor track and field season. With this weekend being that weekend, it means the Randolph College women's and men's indoor track and field teams will begin the season.
The WildCats travel to Roanoke College on Saturday for the first meet in the history of the new Cregger Center. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals will host the Bast-Cregger Invitational, which will feature teams from all over the region. Over half of the ODAC will be in attendance, while several other Division III programs are coming. In addition, the meet should prove challenging with several DII and DI schools attending the meet as well.
Both the women's and men's teams will be looking to improve on last year's indoor finishes. The men took home sixth at the Indoor Championships, while the women finished eighth. With the increased competition, the team is very capable of doing just that.
