Track and Field Begins Second Semester

LYNCHBURG, VA – With students returning to campus and practices resuming, the Randolph College women's and men's track and field teams will begin the second semester schedule.  The teams will head to the Liberty Kickoff, with select athletes competing on Friday, and the majority of the team going on Saturday.

The WildCats will be looking to improve on their opening meet in December.  Both the women and men had great success at Roanoke College.  DJ Petty set a new-school record in the triple jump.  He also had a stellar showing in the 60-meter hurdles, setting a new PR, but falling to teammate Anthony Quinn.

The women had two program records fall in that meet.  Taylor Rama set one in the 3,000-meter race, as she won her section of the event.  Trevanna Berryman set a new shot put record, taking fourth overall in the event.  The fourth spot was behind only three throwers from Division I institutions.

This meet will also be interesting, as it will be the first collegiate meet at the new Liberty University indoor facility.  A high school meet was hosted this past weekend, but this will be the first one for college athletes.  It will also be a very large meet, with over 35 schools sending representatives.  Half of the ODAC will be represented, and 14 Division I teams will be in competition.

Live stats will be provided, but the link will not be published until Friday.  Check randolphwildcats.com for that link.
