Track and Field Opens Up Outdoor Season this Weekend
LYNCHBURG, VA – Despite the cold front that came through the region, the middle of March signifies the start of the outdoor track and field season. With that happening, the Randolph College track and field teams will be competing for the first time in this section of the season, taking part in a two-day meet this weekend.
The WildCats will head to the W&L Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University on Friday and Saturday. It will be a good chance for the 'Cats to get work at Wilson Field as it will be the host of the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Championships. This will also be the first time Randolph has ever competed at the Generals facility in the history of the program.
Both the women's and men's teams will be looking to improve on successful indoor seasons. Additionally, this meet will begin a grueling stretch of seven-straight weeks for the WildCats, culminating in ODACs.
W&L will provide live updates throughout the meet. The link is http://results.tfmeetpro.com/Blue_Ridge_Timing__wwwblueridgetimingcom/2017_WL_Track__Field_Carnival/.
