Berryman Honored by ODAC in Program First

FOREST, VA – On Monday, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its players of the week honors for last week, and for the first time in the history of the program, a member of the Randolph College women's outdoor track and field team was selected.  Trevanna Berryman was that WildCat.

Berryman was selected as Field Athlete of the Week after posting two-school records during the two-day, W&L Carnival.  In the shot put, she finished third overall and set a new outdoor record with a toss of 35'8.75".  That mark currently has her in the 49th spot in the nation.  She also added a personal best in the hammer throw, reaching a distance of 73'5" at the meet.

However, her best mark came on Friday in the discus event.  She won the event with a Randolph-record of 126'4".  That mark beat her closest competitor by a foot and third place finisher was almost 20 feet behind.  It demolished the school record by 19'8" and it is the best throw in the ODAC this year.  To complete the enormity of the throw, it puts Berryman in 12th in the country.

Berryman and the rest of the 'Cats will look to continue the success from this past weekend at the next meet, this Saturday.
