Track and Field Heads Across Town
LYNCHBURG, VA – After having a stellar opening weekend, the Randolph College outdoor track and field teams will continue the season this weekend without having to leave the city of Lynchburg. The WildCats will compete at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invitational, which is hosted by Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Lynchburg College.
The 'Cats had a successful first meet, posting 10 qualifying marks for the ODAC championship meet in that first go around. Included in that total is three ODAC-leading marks. Anthony Quinn is the top 110-meter hurdler, while Trevanna Berryman is the top thrower in the shot put and discus. Berryman is joined in the shot put ranks by Teliya Stevenson and Rebecca Webb. Additionally, several others were close to reaching those times/distances and will look to do so this weekend.
The meet should be a good one as 16 other programs (one female-only school) will send athletes to the meet, including two Division II schools. There will also be several unattached and club competitors adding to the difficulty. Seven other members of the ODAC will also be in attendance, giving the 'Cats a good idea of what will happen at the championship meet, which is less than a month away.
LC will provide live updates throughout the meet. The link is http://results.tfmeetpro.com/Blue_Ridge_Timing__wwwblueridgetimingcom/2017Dr_Jack_Toms_Alumni_Invitational/.
