Track and Field to Compete at Doc Jopson

LYNCHBURG, VA – After having great success at last Saturday's meet, the Randolph College outdoor track and field teams will travel to Bridgewater College for the Doc Jopson Invite.

Last season, the WildCats were supposed to compete at the Doc Jopson, but the meet was cancelled in the 11th hour due to problems with the facility.  This year, the team has been neck-in-neck with the Eagles in some events, which should make for a high-stakes meet.

The biggest place with rampant competition is in women's throwing events, primarily in the discus and the shot put.  Trevanna Berryman and Katelyn Senger are the top two in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in both disciplines.  Berryman leads in the shot, while Senger is up top in the discus.  In the shot, Senger is followed by three of her teammates and then Teliya Stevenson is next.  On the discus side, Stevenson is fifth, an Eagle is fourth, and Kayla Wilhelm is third, making for an entertaining day in the throwing arena.

On the men's side, the 200-meter race will be a fast one.  Three of the top ODAC sprinters will be in the race, and their times are only separated by four-tenths of a second.  Karim Frazier is in that group, coming in with a time of 22.63.

The meet should prove to be entertaining and provide a good launching point for the last month of the season.

BC will provide live updates throughout the meet.  The link is and video will be provided of certain events at
