WildCats Take Eighth at ODACs

LEXINGTON, VA –The Randolph College women's track and field team finished up at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Championships on Saturday.  The WildCats picked up 18 points, taking eighth.  The total was more than the team had last year.

Javelin began the day, and Teliya Stevenson picked up her first points of the meet.  She threw the jav 85'2", picking up two points for the team.

The WildCats next picked up points in the 100-meter hurdles.  Marisa Quarti ran well in tough conditions.  The rain and wind had her just missing out on a season best.  However, she still picked up fifth-place and four points in a time of 16.75.

Michaela Saunders nearly picked up points in the 800-meter race.  She set a new career-best in the event, crossing the line in 2:33.23.  It gave her 10th, two spots and three seconds off of points.

Discus wrapped up the day for the Randolph team.  Kayla Wilhelm, Rebecca Webb, and Trevanna Berryman all threw well.  Wilhelm just missed out on points, but Berryman earned another spot on the podium.  She added to her bronze on Friday, by picking up another bronze.  Her toss of 112'9.50" gave her third.  Berryman is the first member of the women's team to earn two medals in a meet.

Most of the team will have completed their season as of the meet.  However, select athletes will still complete at a few meets throughout the rest of the year.
