Women’s Track and Field Caps Off Weekend at Bast-Cregger Invitational

SALEM, Va. – The Randolph College women's track and field team capped off its season opener at the second and final day of the Bast-Cregger Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College, on Saturday.

Sprints/Distance

Jordan Sheets was the lone Randolph runner in the sprinting events as the sophomore earned a sixth-place finish in the 300 meter run with a time of 45.48 seconds before taking a time of 28.36 seconds in the 200 meter sprint. Teammate Liz Beairsto had the fastest Randolph time in the 800 meter run as the sophomore clocked in at 3:10.35.

Field Events

First-year Meghan Chaffins earned a mark of 4.52m in the long jump while Kayla Wilhelm hit a mark of 10.65m in the weight throw, followed by teammates Rebecca Webb and Kristen Thomson who posted marks of 9.83m and 3.26m, respectively. 

The WildCats will return to action after the winter holiday to open the 2018 season at the VMI Keydet Invitational on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 19-20.
