Women’s Track and Field Closes Out Competition at VMI Winter Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph College women's track and field team concluded competition at the VMI Winter Relays held on Saturday at the Virginia Military Institute. 

Jordan Sheets (Lewisville, N.C./Ronald W. Reagan) posted the fastest Randolph times in the sprinting events, posting a time of 1:03.3 in the 400 meter run before finishing the 200 meter sprint in 28.13 seconds. Teammates Marisa Quarti (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) and Jalil Penn (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) also competed in the 200 with Quarti earning a time of 29.75 seconds while Penn followed in 30.53 seconds.

In the field events, Meghan Chaffins (Temperanceville, Va./Holly Grove Christian) recorded a mark of 4.47m in the long jump.

The WildCats will return to action next week when they compete at the UCS Invite in Winston-Salem, N.C. which will be held from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 16-17.
