WildCats Finish Second Among DIII Teams at Adidas XC Challenge

CARY, NC – The Randolph College women's cross country took second place out of the Division III teams competing at the Adidas XC Challenge on Friday.  The WildCats also defeated four schools in higher divisions as well, taking 12th overall at the 5K race.

The WakeMed Soccer Park Cross Country Course proved to be a great course for the 'Cats as several runners set new PRs.  Taylor Rama once again carried the banner for Randolph, and crushed her PR, stopping the clock in 21:44.1, for 87th overall.  Baylee Snead followed shortly after in 94th place, finishing in 21:59.3, also a new career best, by over a minute.

Dani Hill was the third WildCat to cross the line, finishing in a time of 22:40.9.  Sarah Reed, followed three spots behind her, finishing with a season best of 23:03.3.  Sophia Dill also ran a season best in the 5K, stopping the clock at 23:28.1.

"Rama broke into the top 10 all time (took seventh with today's performance). Snead ran a lifetime best race today. Every single member of the team ran their fastest race of the season," said Head Coach Bill Cooper.  "We couldn't be happier with how hard this group is working this season. I thought that it was going to be a fast race and was ecstatic with the results!"

The 'Cats will run in Lynchburg, VA next weekend in the Virginia 4 Miler.  The race, which is part of the Virginia 10 Miler, is a non-team event, but a great chance to watch the WildCats at home during Family Weekend.  The race begins at 9 a.m.
