LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph College women's soccer team is out to an early 2-0 start, and much of that success can be attributed to the fine play from sophomore Brittany Hammons (Yorktown, VA/Grafton) as she has earned the first WildCat of the Week recognition for the 2012-13 athletic year.
Hammons started the season out in style Friday night, netting two goals including the game-winner in a non-conference victory over Ferrum College. Hammons scored in the fourth minute of the game Friday, before tallying in the 99th minute in the first overtime to give the 'Cats a 3-2 win. On Sunday, Hammons played the role of facilitator, setting up first-year Abigail Bullins (Asheboro, NC/Asheboro) twice for scores.
Hammons now on her career has scored eight goals in a little over one season of play, dishing out four assists. Four of her eight career goals are game-winners, including her first three collegiate goals last season.
Congratulations to Hammons on being named this week's WildCat of the Week.
