LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Randolph College softball team set a school record for wins in a season this week, much in part to the pitching of junior Kristen Hutchinson (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery). Hutchinson has been named WildCat of the Week for her solid performances in the circle.
The junior hurler continued to have success this week, as she posted a 1-1 record, chalking up a 1.17 earned run average along the way. She struck out four and allowed just two runs over 12 innings of work. In a 7-1 victory over Eastern Mennonite University, she went all seven innings, allowing only one run. Saturday against No. 12 Roanoke College, she surrendered just one run on four hits in five innings.
On the season, Hutchinson is now 10-4, fanning 44 in 73.2 innings of work. Congratulations to Hutchinson on earning WildCat of the Week.
